PlanNet is a proud supporter of Cancer for College, a foundation established to provide scholarships for children battling cancer. PlanNet’s Steve Miano, joined sponsors and other event participants at Cancer for College’s recent 19th annual Will Powered Golf Classic, hosted by comedian and actor Will Ferrell. PlanNet made a substantial donation to help Cancer for College provide vital support for young people dealing with the financial and emotional challenges of fighting cancer while at the same trying to fund a college education.
Cancer for College was formed in 1993 by Craig Pollard, evolving from a business planning assignment during his senior year at the USC Business School. Craig is a two-time cancer survivor and has witnessed first hand the financial impact the disease can have on families and the hope a college education can provide to a survivor. The foundation’s mission is to provide hope and inspiration to cancer survivors and amputees by providing college scholarships.
