PlanNet lead the City of Thousand Oaks strategic planning and assessment of their current network and communication systems, which included evaluation of the current cabling infrastructure, data network and voice system requirements in order to determine the strategic roadmap for the City’s migration off of it’s expensive Centrex system. PlanNet evaluated multiple platforms from premise based IPT, premise based TDM and Hosted solutions that resulted in a TCO analysis and a business case that was presented and successfully approved by the City Council.
PlanNet prepared and managed the procurement documents of a new city-wide cable infrastructure RFP, a new VoIP system RFP and a new Data Network RFP reflective of the specific goals of the City of Thousand Oaks. PlanNet assisted in the review and award of these various bids and then played the role of the primary Project Manager to oversee and coordinate the implementation of this infrastructure and systems city-wide over a two year period. The project was successfully completed in July 2011.
