Combining Technology with Art

The PLANNET team takes pride in being at the forefront of technological innovation and providing cutting-edge solutions to many different sectors. Among our most exciting projects are collaborations with renowned museums throughout L.A., such as The Broad, The Petersen Automotive Museum, The Getty, and the Japanese American National Museum. These partnerships have allowed PLANNET to be a part of Los Angeles’s cultural backbone, bringing art, entertainment, and safety to millions of visitors a year.

The Broad:
The Broad, a contemporary art museum in Los Angeles, is home to an impressive postwar and contemporary art collection. To enhance visitors’ experience, PLANNET designed and installed an advanced audiovisual system that seamlessly integrates with the museum’s dynamic exhibits. The team also designed the keynote conference and presentation space located just inside the iconic “oculus” on the east side of the building. These designs ensure visitors enjoy high-quality sound and visuals that complement the museum’s innovative displays.

The Petersen Automotive Museum:
At The Petersen Automotive Museum located on “Museum Row,” PLANNET helped to create an immersive experience for car and racing enthusiasts. The PLANNET team designed cutting-edge audiovisual systems that bring the history of automobiles to life with vivid displays and interactive exhibits. With the upgrades, visitors can engage with the museum’s collections in new and exciting ways, thanks to state-of-the-art technology. Part of the upgrades to the museum include the now iconic corrugated aluminum overlay that wraps around the building. At night, the color and forms light up from within to accentuate the steel sculpture and act as a beacon on The Miracle Mile. PLANNET’s security infrastructure designs at The Petersen ensure the museum’s priceless vehicles and artifacts are well-protected. The comprehensive system includes high-definition surveillance, access control, and alarm systems that work together to safeguard the museum’s assets.

PLANNET’s key role in designing the security infrastructure at both locations ensures that the collections are protected with the latest surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection technology. These measures are critical in preserving the integrity and safety of the art and artifacts and the safety of the over 2 million visitors annually.
