What do Dr. Dre and PlanNet have in common? Only that PlanNet is providing technology consulting services for the new Beats By Dre headquarters in Culver City, California. Beats by Dre is a producer of audio products and equipment founded by hip-hop producer Dr. Dre and Interscope-Geffen-A&M Records chairman Jimmy Iovine.
The company which apart from the Dre name plays upon the use of celebrity endorsements from the likes of Lil Wayne to Nicki Minaj will soon have a new home to satisfy the company’s growing status. The new 66,400 SF headquarter facility will be spread out over three buildings, and in line with the company’s image will be designed with the latest in high technology. Two 3×3 videowalls in the marketing and operations areas for viewing current information will be instated.
Audiovisual elements will be incorporated into the conference rooms, board rooms, celebrity lounge room, marketing and operation areas, executive offices and public spaces. The conference rooms and boardrooms will have video teleconferencing abilities that will allow video and audio conference calls with other Beats company facilities and stores nationally and internationally in addition to clients and vendors.
There will be a presentation area with a large video screen / video projector and sound system for large group meetings. This system will have the ability to stream the meeting over the company network at the same time so those who cannot attend in person can still view and listen to the presentation.
Wireless connectivity will be available throughout and a new VoIP system will be implemented.
The facility is slated to be completed by fall of 2013.
