Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian

PLANNET has worked with Hoag Hospital providing technology consulting and developing strategic needs assessments for their construction projects and IT initiatives over the span of 15 years. Our support services involved building design and implementation of cabling infrastructure for a new 80,000 SF support services building, including a significant fiber optic backbone infrastructure to connect Hoag’s data center with the rest of the campus. PLANNET managed all telecommunications aspects of the project, including the relocation of a PBX, implementation of ACD functionality, and management of a T3 circuit. PLANNET’s recommendations and design were used in the final infrastructure implementation.

New Patient Tower
The new hospital building consisted of approximately 250,000 SF with 154 beds (including ICU). The hospital is comprised of a five-story patient tower plus a three-story connected medical wing. The facility closed for renovation and began a three-phase schedule to renovate approximately 40,000 SF. PLANNET was involved in all three phases providing planning, design, procurement, and implementation oversight for low voltage systems, IT infrastructure, security (access and CCTV), and wireless LAN.

Women’s Pavilion, East Tower
PLANNET aided in the telecommunications infrastructure design for a new 300,000 SF Women’s Pavilion, East Tower that includes a new main distribution frame (MDF), PBX switch room, and clinical areas. PLANNET was also responsible for the design of all low voltage systems, including voice, data, and video for the building, as well as its connection to the rest of the campus.

Data Network and Voice System Replacement
The PLANNET team designed, procured, and managed the implementation of new voice communications and data network for the campus.

Data Center and Network Operations Center
PLANNET provided the requirements development and design of a new 3,500 SF data center, including a network operations center (NOC).
