Laguna Niguel’s new development, Career Lofts, is taking the lead on creating high-tech residential units catering to the growing trend of telecommuters. To support the various technologies of tenants working from home a robust infrastructure that supports networks and applications is being designed by PlanNet.
Media distribution units, which allow consolidation of analog and digital lines, cable TV, DIRECTV, and Satellite TV, are being implemented. In addition to the residences the complex will have conference rooms for attendants to hold meetings, copy centers, activity rooms, and lounge/bar areas, all which will be supported with audio visual features such as high definition flat screen TV’s with surround sound, projectors for the lounge/bar areas, and speakers around the pool.
To ensure tenant safety, PlanNet is also designing a security system, which will include cameras around the perimeter and within the parking structure, and access control around the entire complex.
Construction on the parking levels has recently begun and main construction is scheduled to start in early 2014.
As technology and the telecommuting trend continue to proliferate, live-work developments are likely to grow and evolve to satisfy the changing needs of consumers.
