Disney Interactive, which is responsible for developing video games, online material, and interactive marketing recently relocated to a new campus in Burbank, California. PlanNet was integral in the programming, design and installation of various audio visual (AV) cutting-edge technologies for the relocation.
The design philosophy for the project involved supporting the latest technologies as well as providing for future technologies. Given that future technologies are difficult to predict in the ever-changing AV industry, PlanNet designed AV infrastructure to support all known digital ip-based AV transport methods that will be utilized in the coming years. All control systems and card-frame switching systems within the individual divisions are networked and expandable so that the systems can be modified to best suit Disney’s needs in the present and moving forward.
The 342,000 SF campus also emphasizes innovative systems such as video game testing/observation facilities complete with high-definition logging and live streaming to remote locations around the globe, a 2×6 video wall that displays continually-changing web-based video content, a flexible indoor/outdoor presentation commissary capable of seating over 1,000 persons, an ultramodern movie and lecture presentation room, dozens of conference rooms with high definition video-teleconferencing, a centrally managed and automated digital signage system, iPad-based room reservation system, and dozens of collaborative conference rooms that can support any available gaming console including those in the foreseeable future.
